Если кто и может утверждать, что именно так он и работает, то это в первую очередь компания Wolff Olins. Как же я ошибался! Председатель правления Брайан Бойлан и художественный руководитель Патрик Кокс были очень любезны и обсудили моё творение спокойно и объективно. Они оба хорошие собеседники, чётко выражают свои мысли и умеют слушать, и когда они рассказывают, как они сочетают острое деловое мышление и более мягкую, основанную на интуиции, творческую составляющую, мне стало понятно, почему их далеко не бедные клиенты так высоко их ценят.
Я даже поймал себя на мысли, что начинаю воспринимать этот логотип по-новому. Я не изменил своего мнения о его ошибочности, но моё недовольство скорее было вызвано эстетикой: падающие тени и пёстрое месиво кислотных цветов скорее раздражают глаз, чем являются графическим средством донесения какой-либо идеи. И тем не менее, свеж подход, основанный на стандарте Web 2.0 – пользователям даётся возможность самим создавать свои версии продукта, что вносит элемент новизны в закоснелые представления о брендинге.
Ни Бойлан, ни Кокс не отказываются от этой работы. Я ожидал, что они будут общаться со мной, как общался бы оргкомитет Олимпийских игр 2012, избегать прямых ответов и оставлять многие вопросы без ответа ввиду приказов «сверху», но вышло совсем наоборот. И продолжает: «После приобретения контрольного пакета акций в 1997 году наша схема сотрудничества включала пять сильных партнёров, которые не всегда сходились во взглядах. Четверо из них ушли после приобретения нашей компании компанией Omnicon в 2001 году, но в команду пришёл Патрик. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser thats not an issue, but if youre planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPods larger screen and better browser may be important.
