Однако, мои попытки не увенчались успехом, многие из моих электронных писем остались без ответа, а, к моему удивлению, никакой информации от самих представителей Animal Planet после внедрения нового образа, я так и не заметил. Поэтому будем довольствоваться только тем что есть, то есть логотипом.
Новый логотип создан компанией Dunning Eley Jones. Компания находится в Лондоне и имеет значительный опыт в ТВ-брендинге. Этот логотип приводит в замешательство. Причем в замешательство серьезное. Заметно, что используется шрифт Knockout, разработанный Тобиасом Фрере-Джонсом (Tobias Frere-Jones); вес шрифта равен 100. Чувствуется некая «неправильность», и как мне кажется, буквы широковаты. Даже независимо от шрифта, который применяется, сам логотип — это совокупность неких идей. Предполагаю, что разная ширина букв олицетворяет разных животных, а буквой «М», которая лежит на боку, представлено какое-то животное, которое спит или готовится к спариванию. А может, это летучая мышь. В целом, композиция должна оставлять впечатление «живой» и непредсказуемой. Но к сожалению, она кажется механической, ограниченной и, не побоюсь сказать, мертвой. Образ, который первоначально нацелен на то, чтобы «изобразить царство животных в первозданном, живом виде», явно не справляется с этой задачей. Я вижу олицетворение этого образа в сотне различных форм, шрифты имеют разный вес, цвет и структуру, я вижу, что образ как бы дышит с экрана буквами, которые расширяются и сужаются.
